Spending hours on the highway without a proper windshield turns every ride into an endurance test. Wind fatigue is real. The constant air pressure at highway speeds drains energy faster than most riders expect. A good windshield redirects airflow over and around you, reduces noise, and lets you arrive feeling like you enjoyed the ride.
National Cycle VStream
The most well-regarded aftermarket windshield in touring. The patented shape pushes turbulent air up and away instead of straight up like a flat shield. Made from Quantum hardcoated polycarbonate, more scratch-resistant and impact-resistant than acrylic. Available in multiple heights and tints for sport-tourers, cruisers, and adventure bikes. Puig Touring Windshield
Spanish company making windshields for an enormous range of motorcycles. Acrylic construction is lighter with good clarity. Available in clear, light smoke, and dark smoke. Puig stands out for fitment variety. If you ride a less common motorcycle, Puig probably makes one. Model-specific bolt-on hardware, no drilling required. Rounded polished edges look factory-quality.
Madstad Adjustable System
Instead of a fixed shield, Madstad sells an adjustable mounting system. Change angle and height on the fly. Angle up for protection on cool mornings, down for airflow when warm. Adjustments take seconds without tools. Stainless steel hardware, precision pivot. Works with their own shields or other manufacturers.

A full fork-mounted fairing with integrated windshield for cruiser and standard riders. Protects chest, head, hands, and lower arms. Durable Lucite acrylic in multiple finishes. Givi Airflow Adjustable
Universal adjustable windshield with model-specific mounting kits. Two-position height adjustment by hand adds about 4 inches when extended. Smoked acrylic at a competitive price. May need minor adjustment for your riding position, but once dialed in provides solid highway protection.
Choosing the Right Size
Some riders prefer looking over the top of the shield (chin to nose level) for rain and night visibility. Others look through, which needs excellent optical clarity. For highway touring, go wider. A wider shield protects arms and shoulders, reducing fatigue. You will not regret it after a 500-mile day.
